With a week off between FarmShare deliveries, we decided to take a little break for a long weekend in Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill. Much fun and much barbeque was consumed. We also had the opportunity to attend a fundraising event for Slow Food Triangle's Terra Madre delegates. A chicken feed at a local chicken farm complete with southern sides and the best pecan bars I've ever tasted. Oh and these folks never gather without a gallon, yes a gallon, of bourbon. Whew! We had a blast exploring the area's farmers' markets and vibrant restaurant scene. Heck, even the grocery stores were fun.
Here's a summary: Lantern, Watt's Grocery, Carrboro Farmers' Market, Slow Food Triangle, and Durham's fascinating Duke Homestead and Tobacco Museum!
