Fresh asparagus, like really fresh -- eaten within an hour of harvest. Unbelievable. Everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy food this fresh.

The spring crop of mint is flourishing in my garden. Just in time for this lovely Feta Mint Dip recipe.

Lemony Olive Oil Banana Bread from 101 Cookbooks, still my all-time favorite food blog. Heidi Swanson's stories and photos just make me want to cook.

The Japanese word, shun which is used to describe foods at the peak of their season, quality and flavor. It has no exact English translation.

And speaking of Japan... Taishi-san, the sushi chef at Gingko. Best sushi I've had since I left Seattle.
